Crafty Friends Give Blog Hop

Welcome to the Crafty Friends Give Blog Hop. We are so glad you could join us for Day 1 of this very special hop. The mission of this blog hop is to raise awareness about bone marrow donations to help Leukemia patients.

Bone marrow donation technology has come a long way, and is now as simple as giving blood. So we are trying to raise awareness and get people to register at http://marrow.org to be a bone marrow donor. And why are we doing this your might ask? To help a friend a fellow crafter, Liz Decade. Liz is battling 2 different forms of acute Leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. We are hoping that this hop will help her to find a match. You can see her story at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va6RNwYj4BE&list=UUz-JkPSKRldHJNbbEotv8DQ&feature=plcp.

Even if you are not a match for Liz, you can still help her. You see bone marrow registrations drives are expensive, you have to pay for each person who is registered, and Liz is trying to raise money for bone marrow drives and medical expenses (it costs a lot of money to get a transplant). You can donate to Liz at lizquesada.leukemia@gmail.com. All of the money donated will go to bone marrow drives or medical expenses.

And we have some wonderful sponsors who have donated prizes for our hop.
Sweet Stamping Treats Digital Stamps, Trendy Twine, MB Treasurista, Paper Piecings by Nikki, Inspired Stamps, My Pink Stamper and Peachy Keen Stamps have all donated prizes to this hop. In order to be eligible for one of  these prizes you must comment on every blog in this hop! There are other requirements for the sponsors so please see Liz's blog post for more details.

If you are coming from Lina, you are right on track. If you just came across my blog and would like to hop along, please start over with Liz (http://decadeofscrap.blogspot.com)

So for my project I made a test tube holder...

I found the tutorial for the holder here.  I pop dotted the sentiment on some yellow patterned paper and used glue dots to attach it to the test tubes. I inked all the edges and added the gumball machine and a few buttons. Then I filled the test tubes with gumballs and finished them off with a twine bow.

Recipe-
Paper- Core'dinations(green) DCWV(Mod Retro Stack)
Stamps- Jaded Blossom(Gumballs)
Twine- Trendy Twine(Peppermint Stick)
Other- Memento Black ink, buttons, Copics, red distress ink, test tubes

Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to go to http://www.marrow.org and find out how to become a marrow donor.

Your next stop is Tonya.

Here is the entire hop list for day one in case you get lost:

Well I did both so here's my card.

I wrapped the bottom part of the card with some Trendy Twine and  add a heart button and twine bow.

The Love on the light pink paper is a stamp from Jaded Blossom and was stamped with light pink distress ink. I added some stickles to her halo and wings for extra sparkle and colored her with my Copics.

I stamped the inside with a Martha Stewart stamp and added Stickles dots on the edge.

Recipe-

Cartridges- Cindy Loo and Cricut Alphabet

Paper- DCWV(Downtown Loft)Scraps

Stamps- Martha Stewart holiday stamps

Jaded Blossom Challenge: Candy Boxes

Hi Everyone!

Jaded Blossom is having their first Challenge today.

So here is my project for it.

Cute! Right?!!
I used Jaded Blossom Valentine Treats for both boxes.
I cut everything out with my Cameo. The candy boxes are from the Love Me Do Kit, I just removed the cut out heart. The heart that both animals are holding was from the basic shapes on MTC.

The polar bear was cut from the Cuddly Animal file. I stamped the eyes with Peachy Keen Wide Eyed and Bushy Tail set and added some chalk for the pink cheeks. Then I stamped the heart with Hugs & Kisses, it fits perfectly in the heart.

The hippo was cut from Cuddly Animals II.  The eyes were stamped with Peachy Keen Critter Faces. I stamped I Love You in the heart and added a little button with some Trendy Twine in the corner.

Thanks for looking!

If you want to take part in this month's challenge simply visit Jaded Blossom's blog for complete details on how to enter.

For my first project I used Art Philosophy and Bump in the Night.

I cut the door hanger at 9" from Art Philosophy on p. 25 <star2>font layer, the heart is also from AP on p.26 <Heart1> cut at 1" and I used scissors to make the bite marks on the heart. This door hanger fits a candy box perfectly. I also cut the striped paper at 2 3/8" x 2 3/4" to fit on the front.

Here's a close up of the cute monster from Bump in the Night, <Gomer> cut at 2". I inked him and popped dotted him on to the box. The heart border behind him is from a border punch. I finished off the door hanger with a sentiment and some red rhinestones and of course some white gel pen stitching.

Recipe-
Cricut Cartridges- Art Philosophy and Bump in the Night
Paper- Core'dinations and Scrap paper
Stamps- Jaded Blossom(Love Bites)
Other- Memento Tuxedo Black and Bahama Blue Ink, Red Distress Ink, White Gel Pen, Rhinestones, Fancy Scissors, EK Success heart border punch

For my second project I used Sweet Treats and Sweet Shop.

Here's everything I cut out. The polka dot paper is the card base cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". I inked the card base with some brown ink.

Here is the finished card! I love how it turned out.
I cut the gumball jar from Sweet Shop at 2"<gumballs>  the layers were cut in red, blue, orange and pearl white.
I cut the rounded squares from Sweet Treats at 2.25" p.67 <2s> Cards layer.
The white strip was cut at 1" x 5 1/2" and inked with orange.
I added some Trendy Twine on top of that. After I layered all the gumballs, I used markers to highlight them to look more real. Then I used Dimensional Magic to make it look like a glass jar. The circles in the corners were made with my shape tool. I finished off with some white gel pen stitching and a stamp.

For the inside of the card I used 2 pieces of red card stock cut at 4" x 5 1/4" The sentiments and the gumballs were both from Jaded Blossom Stamps. I colored in the gumballs with some glitter gel pens and did white stitching with a white gel pen.

Recipe-
